Adam O’Feeney, CPA, and senior manager at CironeFriedberg, LLP, joins the prestigious list of accomplished awardees of the 2022 Fairfield County 40 Under Forty award. The award ceremony is set for Thursday, June 16, a The Stamford Hotel, in Stamford, CT.

Adam O’Feeney completed his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Nichols College and his Master of Business Administration through Amberton University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Connecticut and has been practicing in public accounting for 15 years.

Upon joining CironeFriedberg, LLP, the partners quickly recognized Adam’s abilities to communicate effectively with the partners, lead the staff, and inspire his peers.  Adam was soon promoted to Senior Manager and stepped into the position of Team Leader to supervise and mentor staff accountants throughout complex client engagements. He is responsible for his Team’s professional development and job performance and encourages their participation in community and networking events.

Adam is an active member of the Bridgeport Regional Business Council (BRBC) and enjoys developing professional relationships in the community where he lives. He is the Treasurer and a Board Member of Black Rock Little League and has served as a baseball coach for kids on the team since 2014.

A husband and father of four children under the age of eleven, Adam’s civic engagement focuses on the positive physical, emotional, and moral development of children through his athletic coaching activities. He understands that participation in athletics is tied directly to leadership development and instills in the players a sense of team dynamics, cooperation, focus, goal setting, the joy of winning, and humility in defeat.

He is a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, the Greater New Haven Chamber, and the Greater Valley Chamber Shelton.

Congratulations to our Managing Partner, Anthony “Tony” W. Cirone, Jr., CPA, recipient of the 2022 Nancy K. Dolan Leadership Award in recognition for his support and commitment to Immaculate High School, in Danbury, Conn., Catholic education, and the community.

A celebration with the honorees, their guests, supporters of the School, and sponsors will take place on March 26th, at The Amber Room Colonnade, in Danbury, Conn.  The theme for the Immaculate High School’s 17th Annual Gala is “Together Again On Broadway.”

For the past 12 years, Tony has served on the Immaculate High School (IHS) board in a variety of capacities. Currently, he serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and as a member of the Board Finance Committee six years running. He and his wife, Jen, are parents of three IHS alumni and one student in the Class of 2023.

Our Firm’s Partner, Sandra D. Callanan, CPA, who is responsible for the Firm’s audit and accounting practice and quality control systems, was recently honored by the Connecticut Society of CPAs (CTCPA) as a recipient of the 2022 CTCPA Women Distinguished Service Award. Sandy was one of seven women honored during the celebration recognizing excellence in leadership and management in the accounting profession. This virtual event was held in January.

Sandy has over 35 years of accounting, audit, and tax experience. She volunteers and is a member of several boards and committees and mentors interns and new staff members. Sandy filmed a brief video (see link below) for the CTCPA Women 2022 Awards program, in which she shares “The advice that I would give my younger self,”  providing helpful insights for young professionals starting their own accounting careers.

Fun fact…  Sandy rappelled down the side of an 18-story building for charity. That’s a 90-degree vertical descent of more than 200 feet!
